Universal City: Universal Pictures, 1940. Collection of nine vintage publicity photographs of actress Peggy Moran, including one borderless photograph and eight bordered. Four with printed mimeo snipes affixed to the verso, and one with the credit stamp of studio photographer Ray Jones.
Peggy Moran began her acting career with Warner Brothers in the late 1930s. She appeared primarily in B movies, including "The Mummy's Hand" (1940) and "Horror Island" (1941), but retired from acting after marrying director Henry Koster in 1941.
From the archive of noted Hollywood still photographer Ray Jones. Born in Wisconsin on January 1, 1901, Jones worked for Paramount Pictures in the early 1930s, and was the first still photographer to win an Academy Award. He went on to be the head of the still photography department at Universal Pictures, where he worked well into the 1950s.
Eight photographs 8 x 10 inches, one 7.25 x 9 inches. Very Good plus to Near Fine, one with annotations in manuscript ink on the recto regarding touchups. (Inventory #: 164562)
