Price-clipped jacket is chipped along edges, spine ends, and top of front flap, with a 3" closed tear along front fold, a scuff to front panel losing a couple letters of text, and some general smudging and scuffing to surface. Boards bowing inward a bit, with bumping at corners and spine ends, some stray scuffs to surface. Prior owner's name effaced on front free endpaper, else interior unmarked. Binding is sound.

Bontemps' and Conroy's history of African American migration in the United States, sprung from research enabled by the Federal Writers Project. The book was expanded and republished in 1968 under the title Anyplace but Here. (Inventory #: 31926)
