20 Photographs of Individual Vietnamese Airmen Training at James Connally Air Force Base in Waco, Texas, in 1956

Very Good. black & white photos. Image size approximately 8 x 11 cm. Each photo is of an individual airman (occasionally with other people present). All are at least signed on the image side by the individual pictured. These were in a perished photo album presented to MSgt Reavis at James Connally A.F.B. which we acquired a few years ago and never got around to cataloging or researching. The photos and their card identifications from the original album are now in a recent black three hole binder where they are displayed two to a page in plastic collectibles sheets. One student photo in front of a snow-covered car is identified as Sheppard AFB (Wichita) (truncated) where that student had probably been earlier in 1956. Now preserved in a pocket inside the front cover of the binder is the original front cover with its inscription to Reavis on the inside ("For souvenir the times that we lived in James Connally A.F.B. All Vietnamese student"). The 20 trainees appear to have been in 1st or 2nd group Eng. Mec. We don't know anything about this program. 1956 seems early for stateside training of Vietnamese military personal. (Inventory #: 95331)
