To the Voters of Oxford (The "Beer Broadside")

Oxford, MS: [No Publisher], 1950. First edition, second impression as is typical with broken type in "because" (Peterson A29.1b). Single-sided broadside measuring 8.5" x 11". Very Good+, faint horizontal creases, light wear and staining. A very rare, albeit brief Faulkner "A" item. The "beer broadside" printed in Oxford, Mississippi, shortly before the letter on legalization of beer sales appeared in the Oxford Eagle on September 14, 1950. When the Eagle refused to print Faulkner's rebuttal, he had these broadsides printed up in an unknown limitation. This copy originally acquired in Oxford at the time of distribution by a University of Mississippi professor. (Inventory #: 140947216)
