Albert Decaris (1901-1988) was a precocious French engraver and artist known for engraving many religious figures and scenes, and designing and engraving over 600 stamps for the France and the Francophone world. His engravings appear in many editions of classical literary works, and he grew to such acclaim he was elected president of the Academie des Beaux-Arts.
