Early nineteenth century blue morocco gilt, spine with gilt roses, boards with elaborate roll borders and large gilt Aldine device, a.e.g. Bookplate of Syston Park and another; GTS bookplate, perforated stamps on title (touching Aldine printer’s device) and last leaf. Foot of spine rubbed. Cloth wrapper and marbled slipcase. Woodcut printer’s device on title, decorative headpieces and initials in text. 67, [1] ff. 1 vols. Small 4to. Nice binding on the martyrological work, which includes a three-page catalogue of works available from Aldus Manutius II. (Inventory #: 371139)
