New York: Harcourt, Brace and Company, 1933. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good. 383 pp. Octavo [22.5 cm]; Black cloth over boards with an illustrated map of Pancho Villa's Mexico on pastedowns and free endsheets. "Edgcumb Pinchon was General Secretary of the Workers' International Defense League and a great admirer of Villa." The inscription reads: "Edgcumb worked at M.G.M. / on scenario for movie —. / after M.G.M purchased the rights to / the story." And, "The author's own copy / with notations after / publication — / Mildred / 1945 / after his death." It is presumed that the "movie" was 1934's "Viva Villa!", starring Wallace Beery, directed by Jack Conway, of which follows the same story as Pinchon's novel. The identity of "Mildred" is unknown,
