A miscellany of tales of the opening of Kentucky, which detail "the escapades of various frontier heroes, including Daniel Boone, William Crawford, and Francis Downing." One of the primary sources of the Daniel Boone tale, the work went through multiple later editions. Thomson calls it "the most complete collection of captivities and adventures ever published in one volume."
