1944 · Hughes Specialties
Hughes Specialties: Los Angeles, California, 1944. Very good. Light dust soiling.. A charming 10-week merit chart for kids to use to track chores and tasks, including hundreds of stars to cut out and paste next to completed tasks. This example has been partially used and has been signed in pencil by a young girl named Carolyn Reynolds. She has filled in the final blank with her own daily goal: "I DRANK A GLASS OF WATER BEFORE BREAKFAST". She has cut out three stars and used them for Monday's accomplishments: "I dressed myself"; "I washed my hands and face"; and "I brushed my teeth". Note the lack of stars for "I obeyed my mother" and "I ate my vegetables". Single vol. (7" by 9.25"), pp. [16], in original printed illus. self wrps with blue stars on the front. An example of incentive based learning. As often happens, it only lasted for a day.
