Sixteen hand colored lithograph full page plates with letterpress in French noted below. Punchinello or Pulcinella, a stock character (commedia dell'arte) of the 17th century who became a stock character in Neapolitan puppetry (think Punch and Judy). Front cover lettering at bottom of cover notes, "Librairie Ducrocq rue de Seine 55." Faint owner inscription front free endpaper dated 1870. Color plates very fresh, clean and bright, and without hyperbole, almost as new. Cover wear at corners. OCLC 1286065384. (Inventory #: 24403)
