Nadar and Melandri Albumen photographs, Carte-de-Vi site size, of Bernhardt, in different roles

The Nadar photograph shows Bernhardt in Hernani, with information docketed in another hand on verso, including, 1879. The photograph, bordered in dark red, shows spotting on face and background and partially on the costume. "Nadar Rue D'Anjou..." is printed on the mount and again on verso. The Melandri photograph shows Bernhardt in Le Passant, almost full length seated holding a mandolin. "Melandri Paris" is printed on the lower mount and on verso with information docketed in another hand including date, 1878. The photograph appears evenly faded. (Inventory #: 5024)
