Mobile, Ala[bama]: Frank J. Sandoz, 1880. Unbound. Near Fine. Gelatin silver photograph. Image size 3.75" x 5.5" on larger thick card mount. Name of photographer Frank J. Sandoz in the margin below image. A trifle soiled, near fine. Image of an unidentified young African-America woman, posed full-length and resplendent in an elaborate white wedding dress. Beneath a wicker chair to one side, it appears there is a blurred image, quite possibly of a small cat. Curiously, it appears that some of the studio furniture has been hastily pushed aside to make room for the long train on the dress. A wonderful celebratory image. (Inventory #: 597503)
