Light brown cloth hardvoer with pictorial paste down and title on the front cover. Binding is in fair condition only. Covers are shelf and edge worn. Head of the spine is torn. Two photographs are loose from the text block. The very fragile folding folding map in back has tears, splits and creases with minimal loss of content. Ocassional light spotting to the pages. Contents include a roster of the officers and companies in back. Several names in the roster have small check marks in the margins.
Possible association inscription written on the right front flyleaf: "To My dear son, Capt. Earle R. Smith with a firm faith that - he will uphold The Valor of "Alabamas Own" in the Second World War. Major E. P. Smith, Auburn Ala, June 2, 1941." There is a photograph portrait of Chaplain Emmett P. Smith opposite page 72 and his name listed at the end of the roster. (Inventory #: 34075)
