Our drawing on heavy stock off white heavy stock paper with green painted deckled edge measures 13 x 9 5/8 inches. Finster has signed with a large signature under the bird, "Howard Finster."
Born in rural Alabama, Finster was a self taught artist and Baptist revivalist minister. He believed God told him to paint religious art. His became a prolific painter of imaginary artworks incorporating cultural figures into his fantastical imagery. (Inventory #: 5018)
