Complete run of this short-lived and very uncommon journal of Haitian culture, literature, and politics, with a strong anti-Duvalierist slant. Editor-in-exile Gérard Bissainthe was at this time supporting himself as a language instructor at Staten Island Community College; in the late 1980s he would return to Haiti where he became prominent in politics, serving as Minister of Information during the short régime of Joseph Nérette (1991-92). Contributors to these issues include Max Manigat, Antonin Dumas-Pierre, Paul Laraque, Yves Montas and others; each issue includes an editorial by Bissainthe. In addition to political coverage the magazine includes work by contemporary Haitian poets, and a fair amount of content is devoted to Haitian-American immigrant culture in and around New York. OCLC notes 10 locations for this journal (as of 2023), nine in North America, including several incomplete holdings. (Inventory #: 64118)
