London: Sidgwicj & Jackson, 1914 - 1940. Pepys bequeathed his personal library of 3000 volumes to Magdalene College, Cambridge. In 1914 a project to produce a catalogue was begun, and by 1940 the project was complete in four volumes, each edited and introduced by a noted scholar. Part I - Sea Manuscripts; II - Early Printed Books; III - Mediaeval Manuscripts; IV - Shorthand Books. Published down through the years in editions of "not more than 500 copies." First three volumes uniformly bound in cloth over boards with paper labels. Part IV in tan boards with dust jacket. All very good condition. Rarely found as a set. Four volumes.
