[front hinge cracked but otherwise only lightly shelfworn, with a somewhat fulsome (non-authorial) gift inscription on the front endpaper (including four lines of an Emerson poem); the jacket is moderately edgeworn and lightly browned at the edges, with tiny bits of paper loss at the upper spine corners, a 1.25" closed tear at the bottom edge of the front panel, a tiny hole in the front foldover adjacent to a couple of little scrape marks, and the original printed price at the upper corner of the front flap blacked out; still and all, a quite decent example of this (truncated) wear-prone dust jacket]. Rand's most enduring work, widely regarded as one of the most influential novels of the 20th Century. Question is: were we better off in the first half of the century, before it came along? It finally, also, became the basis of a movie adaptation -- actually three movies, released (or escaped) between 2011 and 2014, with the major characters being played by different actors in each installment. (I guess it was like reading the book: once was more than enough.)
