Typed Letter Signed From Sally Ride

A congenial response from the first American woman to have ever flown into space to a letter from Mr. William N. Farlie of Upper Montclair, NJ (who would go on to become mayor of Montclair). This letter also name-checks Ride's 1986 book for children TO SPACE AND BACK. Ride was the third woman as well as the youngest American astronaut to fly to space. A charming piece of correspondence from a pioneering figure. 11'' x 8.5''. Original laser printed typed letter on NASA letterhead with June 1987 filing stamp. Signed in full by Ride.
