[7 b&w plates, 8 poems] good first edition hardcover bound in yellow paper boards and black cloth spine, mild toning to endpapers, unclipped yellow dust jacket with toning to spine and edges. Barrett was the wife of geographer/author Robert LeMoyne Barrett. She also wrote "The Wide Awake Girls." The artist's identity is noted in OCLC as Cynthia Fuller. Agate was an author and essayist/journalist who wrote much about theatre. The paintings seem to represent birth but, as Agate states in his shuddering foreword, seem to be more about death.
