New York: Lyle Stuart, 1971. Very Good. New York: Lyle Stuart, 1971. Early printing, with no subsequent printings noted and $5.95 price on rear, but with "Manufactured in the United States of America" statement on copyright and publisher's address given as 120 Enterprise Avenue (vs. 239 Park) on rear. Quarto (28.5 cm); 160pp; diagrams and illustrations throughout. Publisher's paper wraps. Covers rubbed along edges and joints, with light bumping to corners and some toning / smudging to white rear panel; toning to front cover verso. A few spots of staining and soiling to textblock edges, not encroaching into pages. Opens easily to between a couple gatherings, but spine is unbroken and binding is sound. Pages unmarked.
Early printing of Powell's infamous handbook on drugs, sabotage, surveillance, weapons, explosives, and booby traps, with the introduction "Anarchism Today" by P.T. Bergman. Powell would disavow the work in the mid-70s (and continue to do so up to his death in 2016) and many of the "recipes" have since been deemed flawed, dangerous, or otherwise unreliable, yet the book perseveres with quasi-boogeyman status as an artifact of the counterculture that produced it. (Inventory #: 31473)
