Los Angeles: California Emergency Defense Committee, 1956. First Edition. Wraps. Near fine. This is No. 250 of a limited edition of 750 copies signed by Dalton Trumbo. The American novelist and screenwriter, who scripted films including Roman Holiday, Exodus, Spartacus, and Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo, Trumbo (1905-76) aligned with the Communist Party in the United States before the 1940s, although he did not join the party until 1943. He was an isolationist. One of the Hollywood Ten, he refused to testify before the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC) in 1947 during the committee's investigation of Communist influences in the motion picture (truncated)
