Blue grey paper covers with a net pattern. Vol.1: 2 sheets prelims.; 10 sheets preface and contents table, 40 sheets text and illustrations. Vol.2: 3 sheets contents table; 37 sheets text and illustrations, 1 sheet colophon; 1 sheet ads. The title translates as: PRODUCTS OF THE SEA, ILLUSTRATED. Primarily typeset, but each page of explanatory text has three lightly colored woodcuts of fish, whales, sea mammals, sea weed and other products of the sea. With Japanese names and short descriptions. An interesting example of this genre, which has a long history in Japanese book illustration. Very good condition throughout. 2 vols., complete.
