by [Sougetsudou 送月堂] BUNSHOU 文樵 compiler
1785. [Sougetsudou 送月堂] BUNSHOU 文樵 compiler. HAIKAI YUME NO ATO 俳諧夢之蹤, 3 vols. 27.0 x 19.3 cm. Jou, Ge and Furoku... Nagoya 名護屋 (Not the city of Nagoya, rather a place in Saga Prefecture) Fuugetsudou 風月堂 Temmei 天明5 [1785]. With 32 one page and one double page sumi-e illustrations. Both haikai and kanshi poems. Truly a remarkable production.... The illustrations and poems are perfectly complementary. Quite a large and deluxe production on beautiful paper. The condition is excellent... with the library labels of the Naruse family... All in what may be an original publisher's chitsu with printed title label. The chitsu is worn but the books themselves are very clean and extremely well-printed. An excellent example of the haiga genre during mid Edo. Also distinguished by the quality of the printing, accomplished in such an out of the way place.... Very scarce, indeed.
