London: Meek & Son, 1860. Very good. Light dust soiling, damage to lower right-hand corner of lace paper.. An attractive 12mo valentine produced by the valentine maker Meek & Son, made form decorated paper, lace paper, and an embossed chromolithographed scrap depicting a young boy on a wooden toy horse. Below reads the message "To my Schoolfellow". What makes this example notable is that it has been made from two sandwiched lace papers, with cotton inserted inside to give the valentine weight. Measures approx. 4.75" by 3.25
