I know of no other historian who could have accomplished such a thoroughly exhaustive and satisfying treatise on the subject of Aztec and Mayan paper." With a tipped-in printed (red and black) paper sample as frontispiece plus notes, bibliography and index. Laid into this copy is a sample of Xalamatl paper with an accompanyiing note, "Mexican - Pre Columbian Paper (Ceremonial Paper) pounded out of bark of fig tree." Good condition in soiled dust jacket. Discolored line on rear blank where paper sample was once tipped in with celotape. A review of the book by Evelyn Ehrlich is pasted onto the verso of the blank.
