first edition Hardcover
(c.1932) · New York
by Lovelace, Delos W. (novelization); conceived by Edgar Wallace and Merian C. Cooper
New York: Grosset & Dunlap. Fair. (c.1932). First Edition. Hardcover. (no dust jacket, but encased in a COLOR PHOTOCOPY of the original jacket) [a heavily worn ex-library copy, definitely a reading/research copy only, with the spine completely rebacked with a cloth that's a completely different color than the covers and the title hand-inked thereon, and with a faint stamp on the title page reading "Veterans Administration Facility, Roseburg, Oregon"; the photo-illustrated endpapers are thankfully intact, but that's about the best that can be said for it; the color PHOTOCOPIED jacket is reasonably well-made, although the source used had a couple of vertical creases, one on the spine, the other on the rear panel]. (photographic endpapers) A novelization of the famous movie about the really big ape and the beautiful blonde. Condition-wise it's pretty dreadful, but it'll look OK on your shelf until you've saved up to buy the real thing. .
