[London? ca. 1846–47.]. Playbill, 8” x 5”, with embossed ornamental border. CONDITION: Very good, old fold, one spot at bottom right corner above border, residue of old paper tape on verso, probably from mounting in a scrapbook. This playbill was produced during a year-long tour of London by the Boston-based blackface minstrel troupe the Ethiopian Serenaders, who performed during the 1840s and 1850s. The program includes three parts and a finale, with songs such as Old Tar River, The Virginny State, Old Dan Tucker, a new song Mary Blane, a Burlesque Lecture on Phrenology and Mesmerism, and the finale, The Popular Railroad Overture.
