(San Francisco): Peoples Press, 1970. Very good plus.. First edition of this vivid informational booklet "written by a white person to other whites who want and need to know what the Black Panther Party is all about." A visually striking piece of movement pedagogy explaining the core tenants, history, and prominent figures of the Black Panther Party For Self Defense, written in an accessible and emphatic manner by a white writer for a white audience. In addition to "reprinted drawings and photos from the Black Panther newsletter and other sources," this pamphlet features original illustrations by prominent leftist illustrator Frank Cierciorka, who was responsible for creating the famous panther image that would be adopted by Huey P. Newton and Bobby Seale for their Party publications. This is an especially nice copy. 10'' x 7.5''. Original color pictorial wrappers. Illustrated throughout in black and white. 48 pages. Wrappers with light edgewear and rubbing. Small spot of soil to verso of rear wrapper. Leaves clean. Vibrant.
