Bound with a splendid illustrated trade catalog from the American Ship Windlass Company of Providence, RI. It contains descriptions of the full line of the companys wares and many detailed engravings of windlasses, bitts, capstans, rudder supporters and other heavy marine hardware. Tipped in prior to this section is a 9-page government pamphlet from 1882 entitled, "Useful Information for Shipmasters Issued by the Chief Signal Officer of the United States Army." All bound in original full calf with title blindstamped on front board and two black spine labels. A very nice copy.. 23 cm. (2 Preface), 536, 45 (ads) pp. b/w illustrated ads. (Inventory #: 48126)
