(MEDICAL RECEIPTS) AMERICANISCHES NOTH-UND HULFS. AMERICANISCHES NOTH-UND HULFS-BUCHLEIN: ENTHALTEN HAUSMITTEL UND RECEPTE FUR ALLEREY KRANHEITEN UND ZUFALLE AN MENSCHEN UND VIEH. Osnaburg, Ohio: Heinrich Kurtz, 1837. Small 8vo. Contemporary cloth spine, boards. (ii), 57, (3) pages. First edition. A scarce German-American imprint from Ohio. The German subtitle on the title page translates: "drawn mainly from the posthumous manuscripts of a physician famous before his time in Virginia." It seems the Virginia physician was Dr. David Neff of the Valley of Virginia, but we cannot find any background information on him. Title page replaced in facsimile; bookplate; covers worn.
