Five Hand-Painted Facsimile Jenny Harbour Prints

Raphael Tuck. Very Good. Lovely nostalgic imagery from renowned Art Deco artist and illustrator Jenny Harbour. Three of the prints are about 28 by 18 cm, and one is 24 cm tall -- the measurements are including margins. The four prints are "My Ladye" and "My Lady Belly", both from the Early Victorian series, "Una Graciosa" from the Espanolo Series, and "Poudre and Patches" from the Pompadour Series, this one, being the slightly smaller print. Harbour was a resident artist at Raphael Tuck, for whom she did book illustrations, cards, and these prints. The human figures are highly stylized -- one might say, idealized, and they are all wearing extravagant, beautiful clothing whose rich coloring is set off against a gray wash monochrome background. Margins can be moderately soiled, foxed. The imagery is all vivid and free of noticeable defect. (Inventory #: 19933)
