[LGBTQ] Travel guides provided gay, lesbian and queer communities a safe resource to meet like-minded people and now serve as historical reference for cities and states documenting queer culture. Collection of 5 Fodor's gay travel guides released between 1996-2001. The travel guides measure about 5" x 9". The guides feature many establishments that no longer exist, serving as one of few historical documents proving that these establishments were real . Each book also contains addresses and phone numbers for the businesses, along with a reference key with additional travel tips and descriptions. Most books mainly cover the USA, including popular cities and other destinations. This collection includes:

[2] Fodor's Gay Guide to New York City, 1997. First Edition. 187 pages. Measures 4.25" x 7". A guide to New York City and surrounding gay friendly locations, including Fire Island and New Hope, PA.
[3] Fodor's Gay Guide to San Francisco and the Bay Area, by Andrew Collins. First Edition, 1997. Measures 4.25" x 7". Includes 166 pages on Gay Life, Culture Establishments and more in the Bay Area.
