Light chipping at edges; moderate dust soiling and toning. Two separate manuscript legal documents pertaining to Geronimo Lomeli. In the first, dated October 24, 1889, Lomeli takes ownership of a parcel of land in the community called Magallanes, in the municipality of Pénjamo. It is sold to him by Mariana Galván and includes a hand-drawn map of the parcel.
In the second document, dated March 9, 1901, Lomeli has hired a lawyer and notary to write up a complaint against 37-year-old Tiburcio Paterño who has failed to pay for the right to have an “open house” for commercial purposes on Lomeli’s property. This document ends with an itemized bill to Lomeli for the lawyer and notary’s services. A transcription of this document is available. (Inventory #: 3784)
