A four-line quotation from a previously published poem, written entirely in Longfellow's hand and signed by the poet and dated May 26, 1879. The lines are excerpted from the poem "The Builders" which was first published in 1850 in the work "The Seaside and the Fireside". Decorative gilt frame and framed together with a 20th-century photographic print of the poet. Frame measures 15.75" (height) by 12.75".. (Inventory #: 019981)
