A handsomely produced book featuring a number of artworks by Augustus John. Lawrence's autobiographical account of his wartime exploits, where his familiarity with the region, and his facility with languages enabled him to conceive, lead, and execute wartime strategies that his contemporaries saw as overweeningly arrogant and ambitious, but that history has identified as acts of troubled genius. (Inventory #: 82448)
