1982 · Springfield, Pennsylvania
by Mugge, Robert; [Scott-Heron, Gil]
Springfield, Pennsylvania: Channel Four Television Company Limited, 1982. Very good.. Scarce promotional flyer for the political-musical documentary, produced and directed by Robert Mugge - centered on a tour by spoken-word poet and singer-songwriter Gil Scott-Heron and the Midnight Band. Gil Scott-Heron was an African American jazz musician and poet best known for his live spoken word performances during the 1970s and 1980s. In the advertised documentary, Robert Mugge followed Scott-Heron on his tour through Washington DC, going back and forth between live concert footage and the artist's offstage personal life. An ephemeral bit of marketing for this '80s intersection of art and politics. 8.5'' x 11''. Single-sheet, printed recto only in black and white. Minor soiling to edges; faint creasing. Else clean.
