Portland, OR: John R. Kennedy, 2004. First edition. 48 pp. Stapled yellow wraps. Good+ with sticker shadow over handwritten price on front wrap, a little bleed from dampstain to a few pages, faint vertical crease to rear wrap. A contemporary 'zine about a Portland-area Muslim man, Brandon Mayfield, who was wrongfully charged by the FBI and held for two weeks over the Madrid, Spain train bombings of 2004 that killed 193 people and injured over 2,000. Mayfield's fingerprints were in federal databases due to his military service, and the FBI falsely declared they matched prints found in the bombing "100%." Mayfield's conversion to Islam as well as legal and logistical support for Muslim Portland activists no doubt contributed to his being targeted. The US government would later settle with him for $2,000,000. A truly scarce activist publication from the height of the Global War on Terror in the early aughts, when many governmental human rights abuses occurred in the US and abroad, many with negligible news coverage. No copies in the trade or located in OCLC.
