The Cow Concert is the first book in the series of 'Angelo and the Cow' fantasies (see The Cow Voyage Angelo Goes to the Carnival and Angelo Goes to Switzerland), about Marie-Louise, a little girl who lived on a mountainside in Switzerland. She dreamed the cows on the family farm were singing and dancing and playing tunes on their bells. Realizing that the cowbells were like notes on a piano Marie-Louise taught the cows to shake their bells, one at a time, when she pointed a stick at them.
