Zacatecas: Imprenta del Seupremo Gobierno à Cargo de Irigoyen, 1825. Good.. [2],14pp. Lacking pp.5-8. Later plain wrappers. Light dust soiling and faint foxing. An otherwise unknown pamphlet produced on the earliest press in Zacatecas, that records the anniversary celebrations of Miguel Hidalgo's Grito de Dolores, which touched off the long struggle for Mexican independence in 1810. The work begins with a prose account of proceedings, before printing several poems and songs that were performed during the festivities. Lacking two interior leaves, but still a seemingly unrecorded imprint from the first full year of printing in Zacatecas, and an interesting account of Mexican independence celebrations in the year following the adoption of their first federal constitution. Not in OCLC. (Inventory #: 5220)
