Edwin Meese's copy, with his blind-stamp to half-title. $65. * Edwin Meese III was born December 2, 1931, graduated from Yale University in 1953 and received his law degree from the University of California, Berkeley. A prominent conservative leader and member of the Republican Party who served in Ronald Reagan's gubernatorial and presidential transition team (1980-81), and the Reagan administration (1981-1985). Following the 1984 presidential election. Meese was appointed and confirmed as the Attorney General (1985-1988), a position he held until resigning in 1988 amidst the Wedtech scandal. He joined Heritage Foundation in 1988 where he continues to hold the Ronald Reagan Chair in Public Policy and also is chairman of their Center for Legal and Judicial Studies.
