The fourteen stories in DOCTOR MARTINO include the previously unpublished "Black Music" and "Leg," as well as "Turn About," the basis for the Howard Hawks film TODAY WE LIVE and one of relatively few Faulkner stories not set in the author's Yoknapatawpha County, Mississippi. Only 1500 copies were printed by Chatto & Windus, the smallest run of any of Faulkner's first UK printings (Petersen). 7.25'' x 5''. Original orange cloth with gilt-lettered spine. Red topstain. In original red-printed cream dust jacket. 371, [1] pages followed by publisher's advertisements. Light edgewear and sunning to boards. Scuffing and light soil to jacket; spine sunned.
