The "Natural Atlas" was a serial publication released during the mid 19th century featuring large, hand-colored lithographs of various animals, including birds, mammals, reptiles and more. Includes watermark that reads J WHATMAN. Minimal foxing and toning, repairs to margin, small chips to margin. Rare. Georg August Goldfuss (1782-1848) was a German paleontologist, botanist, and zoologist. In 1820, he coined the term 'protozoa' to describe single-celled organisms. (Inventory #: 322400)
