Together with a retained typed copy of Porter’s December 31, 1963 letter to Forster. Light horizontal fold, else fine. A thoughtful letter in which Forster warmly thanks the acclaimed American author for her birthday wishes on his 85th birthday: “I greatly appreciate your birthday wishes, and they are joined to such gracious words about my work.
