Tight and VG to VG+ in its dark boards, with decorative blindstamped bordering along the panels and bright gilt-titling at the spine. Light wear to the spine ends, with just a bit of loss at the spine crown. Small vintage Troy, NY bookseller blindstamp at the front free endpaper, light foxing to the preliminaries (pages otherwise very bright and crisp, including the 8 woodcuts and various tables sprinkled throughout the text). Thick octavo, with sections at the rear including "Eskimo", "Kutchin", "Chepewyan", "Dog-Rib" and "Mauvais Monde" vocabularies. And, finally, a number of pages devoted to "valuable works in the departments of biography and history" and "fresh books of travel and adventure", all published and offered by Harper & Brothers.
