by Storm, Marian
Mexico City: Bland Brothers, Printers, 1939. First Edition. Wraps. Very good. Engaging account of travel through remote parts of Michoacán in western Mexico. Storm (1892-1975) was an American journalist who worked as a reporter and freelance writer for the New York Evening Post and the New York Tribune. In the mid-1930s, she moved to Mexico where she spent the rest of her life, writing about Mexican plant and animal life, regional history and travel, and the human poverty she saw around her. Storm's papers are at her alma mater, Smith College. Octavo: [4], 521 p. with folding maps by Gonzalo Rasso. Original pictorial paper wrappers, with yapp edges. Mild toning to the contents, with a bit of edgewear to the wrappers; otherwise very good. (Inventory #: 77145)
