Westall, R.A.," original blue paper-covered boards, printed paper label on spine (rubbed to the point of illegibility); all else generally very good and sound. First published in 1771 and again in 1774, bringing Beattie (1745-1803), by profession a moral philosopher, praise and fame. The poem raised nature description to a new level, was deeply influential on subsequent writers, and was reprinted in numerous editions.
