Very Good+, some light wear to cloth with a bit of fraying at spine ends; with several well-wishes by Bukowski's classmates in ink and in pencil on endpapers and other leaves to a student at Los Angeles High School, Phyillis Mc[Carthy?]. Illustrated with photographs throughout. Los Angeles High School yearbook for the class of 1939. Includes the photograph of hard-drinking author and poet Charles Bukowski as one of the Summer of '39 graduates; the picture within appears on the cover of his autobiographical novel Ham on Rye. He is also pictured in the group photograph of the Officer's Club.
