Disbound
1513 · Basel. Switzerland
by Johannes Herlot but mistakenly attributed to Guilemus Pariesiensis
Basel. Switzerland: Michael Furter, 1513. Disbound. Very good. Postillia super epistolas et euangelia (Commentaries on epistles and gospels) has traditionally been attributed to Guilemus Pariesiensis, because a preface in an early manuscript edition appeared to have been signed by him, however today, Johannes Herlot is often credited as its author.
More than one hundred editions of the Postilla super epistolas et evangelia were printed during the late 15th and early 16th centuries, qualifying it as one of the first 'best sellers'. Sales were driven by members of the clergy desiring a better understanding of Epistles and the Gospels found (truncated)
