by [RACISM][AMERICAN NAZI PARTY]
Arlington VA; Washington DC; Spottsylvania VA, 1959-1967. 11 pieces, standard format notepaper, some with watermarks. Essentially a small record of various letterhead formats used by the ANP in its various forms between 1959 and some time around Rockwell's assassination in '67. Starting with 1959's "World Union of Free Enterprise National Socialists" through three typographically different iterations of the "American Nazi Party" letterhead from 928 Randolph Street Arlington, VA, probably the most well known of the ANP addresses, "Box 5505 Arlington" and "2507 North Franklin, Arlington" also feature.
Represented here is a World Union of National Socialists letterhead, crediting Robert Homan as Corresponding Secretary, probably placing it mid-60's although WUNS was founded in 1962 after the Cotswold Declaration wherein a motley crew of international fascists met in the Cotswolds, of all places, and pledged unity to their thoroughly bankrupt moral vacuum of an ideology.
The list of participating "nations" (we're pretty sure most of them fielded 3 members grunting over sticky copies of Mein Kampf in a garden shed somewhere) suggests mid to late 1960's before the likes of Korea and Ukraine added their names to the list. There's a Reichsadler letterhead for George T. Parker, a Massachussetts resident and correspondent of Rockwell's who apparently reported confidential Massachusetts National Guard information to him on occasion, very patriotic.
Also present:
A National Socialist Liberation Front letterhead, basically student nazis; a George Lincoln Rockwell "Special Message to College Students" letter with a printed signature, in which Rockwell extends an offer of berth, food and "access to our National Socialist Library of rare books" to any college student who wants to "spend the summer living and working with us...for a moderate fee."; an application form for membership in the American Nazi Party requiring a front view photo, a profile view, and an endorsement from a recruiter; a "National Socialist Youth Movement" letterhead with a Washington DC address given, this has the words "Honor, Loyalty, Discipline" at the bottom, presumably as a reminder of the things you had to abandon once you joined up; and finally a letterhead for an election campaign for Frank A. Drager Jr. for Sheriff of Spotsylvania with the legend "Vote White! Vote Drager!" next to a stylised swastika and an image of a man who looks like he probably shouldn't be trusted with a legal mandate. (Inventory #: 63844)
