American Buffalo (and) The Cabin.

San Francisco: Arion Press, 1992. In a marvelous "Foreword" to this edition, Mamet tells of a long-running poker game in Chicago, run by con men, grifters, and other characters of a similar nature. "I played in the game every day I could..." he writes, "and one day I began to write about it." The play was first produced on Broadway in 1977, and has had several revivals, most recently in 2022. The play was first published by Grove Press in 1977. This fine press edition by Arion Press is illustrated with five full-page wood engravings by Michael McCurdy. It features an unusual cover, with an actual buffalo nickel inset into the front board. It is #148 of (truncated) 400 copies, signed by Mamet and McCurdy. It is accompanied by Mamet's short memoir of life in the woods called "The Cabin," one of 500 copies, issued simultaneously with "American Buffalo."
